Ask Luckey: I Want To Be A Porn Star!

Dear Luckey,

I am a big fan of your other site and I would like to get your advice on something that has been on my mind for quite some time. I am thinking about becoming a porn star. I am a 20 years old year old college student, who enjoys watching porn. While I am not a virgin, I have only had sex twice. Long story short, I follow a lot of known porn stars and they’re life seems to be glamorous. They make a lot of money and they get to travel all over the world. That’s the kind of lifestyle I want to live but I am just not sure.

What I admire most about them, is that they seem to get a lot of attention from men and I never really had that before. I want to be loved and admired. I want men to lust after me. I want my name to be in the minds of every man and I want to be one of the best.

Of course I will NEVER do bareback type movies but I feel like this is the right career choice for me. What do you think?

A Future Porn Star In The Making

Dear Future Porn Star,

I want to start of by thanking you for reaching out to me.

I hope this letter reaches you and encourages you to do what is right for you. Considering that you are an adult, I won’t tell you NOT to do it but I will shed light on the subject and in a nutshell keep it REAL with you!

The reality of the porn industry, it is quite different. It’s a business, and the transactions between the actors are done for money, not for love. The actors may derive physical pleasure from what they’re doing, or not — bear in mind that they are paid to create the illusion that they are all experiencing rapturous pleasure whether or not they really are.

While porn is fine as a way to be sexually stimulated, love is much more complex than that and that is what you’re after. The bad news is, it’s sometimes hard to find and it can get frustrating when things don’t work out. The good news is, you’ve got lots of company. We all want love.

The impression I’m getting is that you want to become a porn star to impress some guy you’ve never met, and to make guys in general like you. That doesn’t sound like a very healthy foundation for a person’s self-esteem.

Did I mention you have to have a very TOUGH skin?

These industries, these men do not want you. They want your body, they take away every little bit of dignity and self respect that you have and it means nothing to them. It is just sex and to the directors and the business themselves are only interested in the money that comes from you, you would just be an object. You are just a dollar sign to them.

And it doesn’t stop there. I have the pleasure of knowing a lot of ‘porn stars’ personally and most of them are either on drugs, living with HIV or both. Some of them have felonies on their records and are constantly in and out of jail. Not to mention their state of mind and perception on life have been altered. Most of them come from broken homes to begin with. Some have been prostituting on the side since their teen years and you would be shocked at some the activities they engage in just to make ends meet. I am sure you have heard of many of these same models ending up in jail for shop lifting and ‘crunching numbers’. I won’t mention any names though!

I remember I conducted an interview with a well known ‘porn star’ and we had to stop every other question because he had to ‘use the restroom’. I found out that he was a cocaine addict and he had to wear diapers from from all the abuse he suffered from doing movies all those years.

It’s sad because just last year they were on top of the charts ‘making money and traveling the world’. You say you will never engage in bare-back movies. These SAME models said the SAME thing but when their light started to dim, they did what they had to remain on top and guess what, some of these big porn company DO NOT test all of their models and they don’t pay as much as you would think.

I WILL say that there some models out there who  have made a living off porn and they run their own empire but it’s not easy and it’s hard work just like any other industry.

You could be working for some grotty pervert at first and you could spend your life in the gutter because people will find out and it’s a slim to none chance that you will be able to find a decent job, making a decent living.

My advice to you is not to confuse sex with love. Go on dates with men and get to know them as people, pursue a non-porn career, and try to live a happy life.

If you are head bent on getting into the industry. RESEARCH the industry. Ask a lot of questions! Take the indie approach and start your own business. Be the CEO of your own empire!

I will leave you with this words of wisdom, ‘All that glitters ain’t always gold’
Good luck to you.

Luckey
