Safety Tips for Online Dating

Many of us are planning our New Year’s Eve celebrations and some of us are planning on dates and some bedroom romps.  However, most of us are using online hook up /dating sites such as Adam4Adam, Gay.com, and BGCLive (Black Gay Chat).  We must be safe.  Many of you are familiar with murders that took place when people met via A4A and Craigslist.
For starters when chatting with a person via online dating sites use caution. Don’t give out any personal information right of the bat. Get to know that person.  If something seems too good to be true, then it more than likely is. Also don’t give out your job information or how much money you make. You could be setting yourself up for a possible robbery.
Next thing, if you all plan to meet, do so in a public place.  Make sure that your friends and family know who, what, when, and where concerning your date.  Also make sure that you go to a place where people are in a group and where there is police near.  You may also want to make it a group thing, however, if you’re plan on hooking up with someone, make sure that you have someone aware of what’s going on with you. Also if you feel that something isn’t right with the hook up leave and call for assistance.
When meeting make sure you both take separate cars.  Make sure that you do not ride with that person. Even if you have to take a cab, they can wait with you, but do not attempt to ride with them. SAFETY FIRST!!!
If ever you feel unsafe after meeting someone, call it to the attention of those around you and get help from the police. These are just a few tips for safety.

  1. I think it's also wise on a first date, to make it happen in the daylight hours.
